The Norwegian Centre for Telemedicine (NST) is a department at the University Hospital of North Norway. NST is a national centre of competence and a research organization with more than 100 employees situated in Tromsø.

NST was in June 2006 appointed by the Research Council of Norway as a Centre for Research-based innovation. This is an arrangement for close collaboration between research-intensive enterprises and prominent research groups.

The Tromsø Telemedicine Laboratory’s (TTL) vision is to become a world leading centre for research and innovation in the field of advanced telemedicine and eHealth systems for chronic, age, and lifestyle related diseases.
