Digital TV and patient information

The projects objective is to explore the potential of Digital TV, in reaching patients and the health interested community, with information by lexical text, presented on the TV.

Project description

People with Diabetes type 2 are to live with their condition for the rest of their lifes. The disorder will influence every part of their daily life to the degree that it's a lifestyle. This new lifestyle is mainly a healthy way of living for the general population. On this background we have chosen to use Diabetes type 2 as a foundation for this project, and at the same time be very aware of the general potential.

A lexical text about Diabetes type 2, shaped to be presented on TV, will be developed. The text will be stored at a Content Management format so it may be reused on different digital media. During a test period the autumn of 2003 a limited number of respondents will be given access to the material. The use, the experience in total, and the satisfaction, will be studied. A report will be presented in july 2004.

Project manager

Geir Østengen (former employee at NST).
