WHO-NST Workshop in Tromso, Norway, 11-12 June 2005
eHealth management for people living with HIV/ Aids
In connection with the 46664 Arctic Concert which will take place in Tromso on 11
June 2005, the NST will organize a workshop on eHealth support for HIV/Aids. The
aim of the workshop is to explore how eHealth can improve the quality of life
for people living with HIV/Aids.

As a WHO
collaborating centre for telemedicine, the Norwegian Centre for Telemedicine
(NST) has been challenged to explore the potentials for telemedicine in health
management for people living with HIV/Aids in the developing world. In
connection with the 46664 Arctic Consert which will take place in Tromso on 11
June 2005, the NST will organize a workshop on eHealth support for HIV/Aids. The
aim of the workshop is to explore how eHealth can improve the quality of life
for people living with HIV/Aids.
The concept of the workshop is to
invite a limited number of participants (max 30 people) from research,
health-care provision and eHealth, who will have a shared background and
interest in the field of HIV/Aids. We are particularly looking for co-operation
with people and institions with experience in introducing information and
communication technology into HIV/Aids treatment and follow-up (preferably) or
with plans and ideas on how this could be done. As we are in the early phase of
the planning process, we would highly appreciate any input, comments and
suggestions to the topic.
