About 60 participants from various
professions, mainly industry, education, research, user groups and health
institutions, will discuss the future needs for information technology within the
home care and nursing sectors.
NST, Innomed, NORUT Social Science Research, The Royal Ministry of Health and Social Affairs, the health committee of Tromsø, the Tromsø council for the elderly, the Research Council of Norway and CSC Scandihealth will introduce various areas of interest for further discussion and debate. Areas of interest are mainly cooperation between industry and the home care and nursing sector, challenges within home care and nursing services, future perspectives and continued pursuit of the nationalized action plan for IT development in the health and social sectors.
In addition, NST will present a survey of the home
care and the nursing sector related to future IT needs. The work includes information on future users of
home care and nursing services - who they are, and what kind of care
services they will demand. The focus is on existing and future technology,
user groups, product development, and reforms in organizing public
services.
