Research and Development (R&D) at NST

The NST runs applied research projects in multi-disciplinary areas telemedicine, e-health and integrated care. Our research community therefore consists of both technologists, social scientists, psychologists, lawyers and educators.

Requirements for research projects at NST

Research projects will result in one or more publications to be quality assured by an established research environment. Agreements between the participants regarding rights in accordance with publications must be settled on.

The NST concieves research as a creative activity which is executed in a systematical matter to achieve greater knowledge. All work that is defined as research is to contain a newsworthy element. Research is deeply rooted in a scientific tradition and aims at re-examinable methods.

Research education at NST

There should always be one doctoral candidate per department associated with the NST. Doctoral research fellows can be candidates within fields that can be affiliated with different telemedicine areas.

A large part of the knowledge-related production at the NST is communicated through publications. The publications are sorted in three categories: scientific publications, popular science, reports and others.
