WHO Collaborating Centre for Telemedicine and eHealth

Introduction

The Norwegian Centre for Telemedicine was designated as the first World Health Organization Collaborating Centre for Telemedicine and eHealth in July 2002, and re-designated in 2006 and 2010. The activities of the centre cover the major aspects of telemedicine. The collaboration is based on the Terms of Reference which includes country work, research and dissemination, distance learning, advisory service and resource mobilization. The activities are described in the annual report. These pages are in English only and dedicated to NST's activities as a WHO Collaborating Centre and other international issues.

WHO flag The designation was made by the WHO Regional Office for Europe and its department in Barcelona, the WHO European Centre for Integrated Health Services. Like all WHO collaborating centres, NST is also a collaborating centre for WHO headquarters in Geneva.

A WHO collaborating centre is a national institution designated by the Director-General of the World Health Organization to form part of an international collaborative network carrying out activities in support of WHO's mandate for international health work and its programme priorities.
