Skrøvseth, Stein Olav
Skrøvseth recieved his Master's degree and PhD in theoretical physics at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim. His PhD was awarded in 2006, and was on quantum entanglement and efficient mathematical and numerical descriptions of this and related concepts. In 2007-2008 he continued as a postdoctoral fellow jointly between University of Sydney and NTNU. In 2009 Skrøvseth started working as mathematical researcher at NST.

Projects
- Melanor: Automatic diagnosis of malignant melanoma using dermatoscopic images, aimed for general practitioners.
- Change detection in lesions: Aimed at high risk patients, develop software that identify dangerous changes in evolution in skin lesions over time based on dermoscopic images.
- Radiation treatment planning: Create a semiautomatic algorithm that can delinate MRI and CT images prior to radiation treatment, especially focused on prostate segmentation.
- Detection of infectious disease outbreaks based on syndromic data.
- Prediction algorithms for blood glucose concentration in diabetes patients.
